Day Forty-Eight: Amnesty Day

I almost feel sorry to say it, but it was a good day, ya'll. I skipped working out and packing lunch this morning in favor of my pre-PCP morning habits, and it was fantastic. Other than an abundance of morning energy at work (positive), and a feeling of lightness and freedom from not being late to work or carrying an extra bag because of lunch-packing, no side effects. Since I live close enough to walk home for lunch, even hitting all my grams was no sweat. Got to the workout at 8:30pm, not too worried since tomorrow is jumprope only day, and it was hard, but I killed it.

On the one hand, it was a great day and I enjoyed it all. On the other hand, it would have been more motivating to have some ill consequences. Should I call this a workout/planning indulgence, or declare every Friday morning amnesty day?

  1. Enjoy your fabulous day, that's what you do! It's good to mix up the routine every so often. If I'm forced by my schedule to save the workout for the evening, sometimes I'm resentful and hating it, other times I've found I actually enjoy a peaceful night workout out on the deck - can even watch the stars while I do my abs.

Didn't mean to plant ideas in your head or imply that you SHOULD be falling into a valley right now. Just keep on, day by day, doing your thang, seeing what happens. You're doing great!

  2. Sounds like a good addition to the week. And with the jumprope only the next day an evening workout is perfect. Nice wellness hack!

  3. Hiya Kim - confession: ramiro and i almost ALWAYS skip the friday workout and do it on saturday when we can do at our leisure in the middle of the afternoon. I've been afraid to say it, but patrick's comment post above seems like it's ok we've made this choice! whatever keeps up going, right?

  4. Variety is the spice of life. Personally, my muscles seem to get nonchalant if I do workout same time every day. As does my brain!
Its good to mix it up. As long as you're hitting the reps etc, a change every so often is good! And it's always good to have "me" time.
